Majorero cheese is a symbol of Fuerteventura and the raison d’être of Grupo Ganaderos de Fuerteventura. Our Majorero Maxorata cheese is made from Majorera goat’s milk and is protected by the Majorero cheese Protected Designation of Origin. Its creamy texture is surprisingly buttery and slightly sweet, which become toasted overtones in the more matured pieces.
It’s an incredibly different cheese from any other goat cheese. The reflection of a tradition which, from here, has given us the opportunity to open up to the world.
Why Maxorata is the King of our Selection of Cheeses?
Maxorata has reaped numerous successes and prizes. It has received the Super Gold, Gold and Silver medals at several editions of the World Cheese Awards. It has also been distinguished with the 2018 Gold Medal and the 2016 Silver and Bronze medal at the World Championship Cheese Contest. In Spain, it was recognised as the best Spanish cheese at the 2017 SalĂłn del Gourmet also winning the 2016 Golden Cincho award, among many others.
